Effective Jan. 1, 2011, a Sewage Appeals Board has been established in Clermont County in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 3718.11. The board was established to allow an aggrieved homeowner an alternative to appealing to the Common Pleas Court. Only issues that involve a sewage treatment system may be appealed to the Sewage Appeals Board and then only after the aggrieved homeowner has had a hearing with the Board of Health.
If the homeowner still is unsatisfied after the hearing with the Board of Health, they can appeal the ruling to the Sewage Appeals Board who will set a time to hear the issue. The aggrieved will need to submit an application along with a non-refundable application fee. As part of the application, the homeowner will need to provide three copies of all submitted information about the case and their reasons for the appeal to the Sewage Appeals Board. For a more detailed procedure process please see the Sewage Treatment Appeals Board Rules of Procedure.
