Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)/
Registered Environmental Health Specialist-in-Training (REHSIT)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Rate: Registered Environmental Health Specialist-in-Training: $40,000 – $42,000

Registered Environmental Health Specialist 1: $45,000 – $50,000

Minimum Qualifications: Must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Health or related science (Biology, chemistry, etc.) which meets the educational requirements set forth by the Ohio Department of Health Environmental Health Specialist Registration in accordance with Chapter 4736 of the Ohio Revised Code; Have the ability to obtain Registered Environmental Health Specialist in Training (REHSIT) status and become a Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) within two years of employment; current REHS or REHSIT preferred; required to have computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to learn new computer software; must be able to work with the public daily; must have strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment; and must have and maintain a valid driver’s license

Job Duties: This is a full-time position in the Environmental Health Division, and the duties will include but not be limited to conducting inspections and complaint investigations on food operations, swimming pools/spas, body art facilities, campgrounds, schools, institutions, and manufactured home parks; investigating animal bite reports of the Rabies Prevention Program; preparing and documenting inspection reports; maintaining accurate files and other office records; collecting samples as assigned; and conducting education presentations to promote improved environmental practices.

Plumbing Inspector (I, II, or Trainee)

Plumbing Inspector I/Plumbing Inspector Trainee Job Duties: Conducts routine field plumbing inspections of residential and commercial plumbing installations to enforce plumbing codes uniformly; reviews and approves plans, drawings, and specifications of plumbing installation; authorizes issuance of permits; surveys for backflow and cross-connections; inspects public sewer and public water installations. Plumbing Inspector Trainee works under guidance from a licensed Plumbing Inspector.

Plumbing Inspector II Job Duties: All duties of Plumbing Inspector I/Plumbing Inspector In-Training. In addition, conducts more complex plumbing inspections; conducts medical gas pressure piping inspections; investigates plumbing complaints; coordinates plan review and permit approval with other divisions and county offices; participates in activities to ensure and maintain accreditation status; actively participates in Quality Improvement Projects.

Plumbing Inspector Trainee Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; seven (3) years practical plumbing experience in non-residential plumbing, or any combination of equivalent education, training, and/or experience; eligible for certification by the State of Ohio Department of Commerce as a Plumbing Inspector Trainee. Must certify with the Department of Commerce within six months of hire. Backflow tester certification and/or Med Gas 6020 is welcomed.

Plumbing Inspector I Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; seven (7) years practical plumbing experience in non-residential plumbing, or any combination of equivalent education, training, and/or experience; eligible for certification by the State of Ohio Department of Commerce as a Plumbing Inspector. Must certify with the Department of Commerce within six months of hire. Backflow tester certification and/or Med Gas 6020 is welcomed.

Plumbing Inspector II Minimum Qualifications: All qualifications of Plumbing Inspector I with prior experience as a commercial and residential plumbing inspector in the State of Ohio or equivalent experience. Backflow tester certification and/or Med Gas 6020 is required within six months of hire.

Children with Medical Handicaps Public Health Nurse II

Type: Full Time, Permanent
Rate: $50,000-$52,000 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications: Ohio license to practice as a Registered Nurse (Section 4723.01 of Ohio Revised Code) (Required); Bachelor Degree from an accredited school of nursing (Required);Six months experience in public health nursing or equivalent nursing experience (Preferred); Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification (American Heart Association or equivalent) (Preferred); Knowledge and skill in administering vaccinations to infants, children, and adults (Preferred); Care Coordination and home visiting experience (Preferred); Knowledge and proficiency using an Electronic Health Record system (Preferred); Independent worker; Skills needed in organization, networking, and basic computer skills; Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license; Required to have regular and predictable attendance

Job Duties: Care coordination of the Children with Medical Handicaps (CMH) program; conducts home/ telehealth visits with families; assesses family needs and provides support, information, and referrals as necessary; completes all nursing documentation in the electronic medical records and billing as required by CMH; performs chart reviews and implements quality improvement measures; plays an active role in providing infant, children, adult, and international travel vaccinations in CCPH immunization clinics on a routine basis; participates in the immunization program planning and implementation; conducts management on all reported cases of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) and Childhood Lead Poisoning occurring in Clermont County; participates in outreach activities; actively participates in continuous quality improvement with the agency; participates in activities to ensure and maintain accreditation status. The individual filling this position will also be trained in basic CCPH-related emergency response procedures and is considered essential for any public health emergency response and disaster recovery.
